Kiira - Kokko - Þursian Icon

250,00

This unique Þursian icon, used at Kiira's live performance in Turku, Finland (13 March 2026), was crafted and hand-painted by Wurmaz using traditional egg tempera, consisting of natural pigments blended with egg yolk. In addition to these ingredients, the paints have been infused with certain magical elements such as camphor, soot, and cow blood. Primordial essences have been channelled into each step of the process, from the preparation of the paint to the act of painting itself and the subsequent hallowing ritual. As a result, the icon has been charged with the abysmal energies of both the Beginning and the End.

In Finnish myth, the Dark Mistress Loviatar transforms into a mighty eagle, kokko, and in this form prevents the creator gods from perfecting the newly created cosmos. The name kokko, signifying both eagle and great fire, reflects this dual nature: a being of both sky and flames, standing at the threshold where forms dissolve and are remade.

At the Verge of a New Dawn
Let us behold the primal union;
As in the void, rime met the sparks,
So shall they now collide within us.

We call upon the flames —
The rejuvenating fires of Muspell —
To meet the ageless rime,
And unleash the enormity of eleven rivers.

May the eagle’s fire
Enkindle our inmost spirits;
May they flourish and become
A conflagration to burn all worlds.

Mundispelþesa afla unse frakwestijeþi jahwe edgaberedi!
(Muspell power destroys and gives birth to us again!)

Here the fire of Kokko is not merely destructive, but generative; akin to the primordial blaze of Múspellsheimr, through which dissolution becomes the condition for renewal. The egg within the flames reflects this same principle: that life emerges not from stability, but from the meeting of opposites within the void.

In the ritual, the icon was sprinkled with consecrated ale as an offering to the primordial essence of Loviatar and Múspellsheimr. If you prefer that the icon be cleaned before purchase, please let us know.
